Florence is excited and proud to have her debut album 'Lungs' nominated as a 2009 Barclaycard Mercury Prize 'Album of the Year'.

The shortlist of twelve nominations was announced this morning (July 21) at the Hospital in London.

The full list of nominees is:

Florence and The Machine - 'Lungs'
Glasvegas - 'Glasvegas'
Bat For Lashes - 'Two Suns'
Lisa Hannigan - 'See So'
The Horrors - 'Primary Colours'
Kasabian - 'West Rider Lunatic Pauper Asylum'
Led Bib - 'Sensible Shoes'
The Invisible - 'The Invisible'
La Roux - 'La Roux'
Friendly Fires - 'Friendly Fires'
Sweet Billy Pilgrim - 'Twice Born Men'
Speech Debelle - 'Speech Therapy'

The 2009 Barclaycard Mercury Prize 'Album of the Year' will be awarded at a ceremony in London on September 8.
